エクスプレスエントリーで永住権を申請中のカナダ国内の申請者は、ブリッジング・オープン・ワークパーミット（BOWP）を申請できます。既存の就労許可証の有効期限がBOWPの審査完了前に切れる場合でも、カナダに滞在し続ける限り「維持された身分」により、現在の就労条件と同じ条件で働き続けることができます。対象となる家族もBOWPを申請できる場合があります。
